Collector Mobile Client

Collector Mobile Client (CMC) is a mobile application for fast meter reading, installation verification, and meter configuration in the field. With nothing more than a smartphone and an optical probe, field crews can read and set up smart meters without specialized handheld terminals.

CMC works as part of OuroPlatform: it synchronizes work orders and results with the OpenHES head-end system out of the box. It can also integrate with third-party Head-End or Meter Data Management systems through an open REST API.

Key Features

Key Features
  • Fast and accurate reading - Read billing registers, load profiles, and event logs over optical probes connected via Bluetooth or USB
  • Installation verification - Validate new installations with meter checks, including phasor diagrams, to confirm correct wiring and phase connections.
  • Meter configuration - Synchronize the clock, upload Time-of-Use tariff tables, operate the disconnector relay, configure the display, and adjust load limits — all from the field.
  • Multi-vendor support - Built-in drivers for meters from Landis+Gyr, ZPA, EMH, Itron, AddGrup, AEM, MetCom, and Meter&Control, plus generic IEC 61107 devices.
  • Multiple protocols - DLMS/COSEM and IEC 61107 optical communication.
  • Works offline - Carry out a full day of work orders without connectivity; results are stored on the device and synchronized automatically once back online.
  • Work-order driven - Field tasks are organized as work orders, with per-user permissions controlling who can read and who can configure meters.
  • Secure by design - Meter credentials are stored encrypted on the device.

Why CMC?

Why CMC?

All you need is a standard smartphone and an optical probe — field workers can read and configure meters without dedicated handheld hardware. CMC runs on Android, with offline-first operation and automatic background synchronization with OuroPlatform / OpenHES.
